RFID Return , Hold & Pick-Up Shelves

​​Intelligent RFID Shelves & Trolleys 

Our RFID-enabled return shelves are purpose-built for efficient, contactless check-in and are typically placed near the library entrance. When a patron places an item on the shelf, the RFID automatically registers the return in the Library Management System.

​

Returning an item is as simple as placing it anywhere on the shelf. There’s no queuing, no scanning—just drop the item and go. Returned materials have their security automatically reactivated. Patrons can browse these shelves and check out items at their convenience. If a returned item is taken out without being checked out again, the system will trigger an alert at the security gates.​

Mobile RFID Return Trolleys 

Our movable intelligent trolleys are equipped with RFID technology & connect directly to an info terminal. A simple click mechanism makes it quick & easy to swap out full trolleys for empty ones. Libraries that position full trolleys in a designated “Just Returned” section report impressive results: Over 25% of returned materials are checked out again on the same day. This improves circulation rates while reducing reshelving workload for library staff. Trolleys are available in two sizes:

  • 3-shelf model: holds approx. 120 items

  • 4-shelf model: holds approx. 160 items

Intelligent Hold Pickup Shelves use RFID technology to transform how reserved items are managed and collected.

  • No more paper hold slips

  • Increased privacy for patrons

  • Streamlined staff workflows

With RFID smart shelves, staff can place reserved items in any order. The system tracks the exact location of each item and communicates that location to the patron upon arrival.

How it works for Patrons: ​​

  1. Present library card and enter PIN

  2. View a list of reserved items, including item details and exact shelf location

  3. (Optional) Print the list for easier collection

  4. Pick up reserved items from indicated shelves

  5. Check them out using a self-service terminal

This modern solution simplifies the collection process, protects patron privacy, and frees up valuable staff time.​​​​​
